Overview. After restarting the machine, the Windows event log may contain a message that the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) failed to start in a timely manner, even though it started successfully. This is because the QDS initialization phase is longer than the Windows timeout period (30 seconds by default).
In Windows File Explorer, navigate to the QlikView Distribution Service Application Data folder (i.e. %ProgramData%QlikTechDistributionService1LogDateOfTaskNameOfTask) and open the task log for the failed task. 2. Check the first line of the log and make note of the alpha-numeric GUID of the task (i.e. 2e808dac-2988-46ea-ba75-fcbcac6f06bc) 3.
However, a quick solution that can be tested and that will usually prove immediately effective is to change the distribution of the document from Distribute to QlikView Server to Distribute to Folder. This way the QVS won’t have to take care of the transfer, which will be in the hands of the OS.
